Collection: Damascus
Damascus blades are made using a core steel for the main body of the blade, on top of which thin layers of additional metal are applied during forging. These can be a different metal to the core steel, but the core steel forms the cutting edge. The damascus layering features on the side of the blade, but finishes before the cutting edge.
This is a very historic and traditional technique which allows some stunning finishes to the blade.
